Setup holds everything about how your agent looks, sounds and behaves on a call. The defaults suit most businesses. Change them after a few test calls, when you know what to fix.

Picture

Every agent gets a picture of its own, drawn for it when you create it: what it does (its template), its voice, its dialect's country and its colours decide who appears. The picture stands for the agent everywhere: in the dashboard, on its public page, and on the widget on your site, in the agent's speech-bubble shape.

To change it, click the picture on Setup → Identity to open the Avatar studio:

  • Art style: 3D, Clay, Anime, Watercolor, Paper cut, Zellige, Neon or Pixel art.
  • Character: a person, a robot, an animal mascot or a sound spirit.
  • Add a detail (optional, up to 200 characters): "wearing a red scarf", "holding a glass of mint tea".

Draw the picture takes about 15 seconds, and every try gives a different one. You can draw 15 pictures an hour. Prefer your own? Upload your logo or a photo instead: a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB, cropped to a square. Remove goes back to the agent's colours alone, which you pick under the picture.

Voice

Choose one of the 30 Voice213 voices, the same voices as the voice-over API. Every voice speaks every language an agent can have. Listen to them in the dashboard's voice picker, or below:

The voice is the same on calls and in WhatsApp voice-note replies.

Voice model

Setup → Model offers three realtime voice models for calls: Voice213 Live 2 Pro, the smartest (the default), Voice213 Live Pro, the fastest, and Voice213 Live Lite, the most stable. WhatsApp chats and test scenarios run on a chat model: Gemini 3.6 Flash (the fastest, and the default), Gemini 3.7 Flash or Gemini 3.8 Flash (the smartest). If the agent's model is unavailable when a call starts, Voice213 tries the others in turn, so a model's outage never drops your calls.

WhatsApp chats and automated tests use a separate text model, chosen under WhatsApp chats & tests. If it's busy, the next one answers.

Response speed

How long the caller must stay silent before the agent decides they've finished and answers:

SettingSilence before replyingFeels
Fast0.35 sSnappy. Can cut off a caller who pauses mid-sentence.
Balanced (default)0.7 sNatural for most conversations.
Calm1.2 sPatient. Best for older callers, or callers who think while they talk.

Under Fine timing you can set the silence yourself, from 0.15 to 3 seconds. Speech start kept is how much audio from just before the detected start of speech is kept (0 to 1 second, 0.3 s by default), so first syllables aren't clipped.

Interruption sensitivity

How easily the caller's voice cuts the agent off while it speaks:

  • Low: only clear, sustained speech interrupts. Use it for noisy places, such as callers in the street or a shop.
  • Medium (default): the model's own balance.
  • High: the slightest "aah…" stops the agent. Use it in quiet settings.

When the caller interrupts, the agent stops at once. Its unfinished sentence stays in the transcript, cut where the caller came in, and it listens.

Re-engage after silence

When the caller goes quiet, the agent checks whether they're still there after the time you set (8 seconds by default, 4 to 30 in the dashboard). After two checks with no answer, it says a short goodbye and hangs up, and the end reason is silence. A caller who speaks up before the goodbye ends carries on as normal. Turn this off if your callers often put the phone down to look for something.

Call length

Maximum call length caps every call: 2, 3, 5, 10 (the default), 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Your agent plan also has a longest call, and the shorter of the two applies. See Plans & Limits.

Thirty seconds before the end, the agent is told to wrap up politely, say goodbye and hang up. If time runs out anyway, the call ends with the reason max_duration. A call also stops when the account's minutes run out, and it needs at least 30 seconds of minutes left to start.

Time zone

The agent knows the date and time where your business is (Africa/Algiers by default). It uses this for "are you open now?", "can you deliver tomorrow?" and booking times. Set your own zone if you sell elsewhere, for example Africa/Tunis or Africa/Casablanca.

Built-in tools

Three tools come with every agent. You can turn each one off under Tools:

ToolWhat it does
End callThe agent hangs up when the conversation is over, right after its goodbye. Calls only.
Knowledge searchThe agent searches a large knowledge base before answering a factual question. See Knowledge Base.
Current timeThe agent reads the exact date and time in its time zone.

Your own tools are covered in Tools.
