The API is paid from API credit: a prepaid balance in Algerian dinars, separate from your plan. API requests never use your plan's credits or its unlimited voice-overs, and the web app never touches your API credit, except the Playground, which runs real API requests.

The API is open on every plan, the Free plan included. All you need is API credit to pay for your voice-overs.

Prices

The API has one paid request, the voice-over (POST /tts), priced per character by the model you choose:

ModelmodelPer 1,000 charactersPer million characters

Voice213 Lite 2Newvoice213-lite-28 DA until 31 December 2026, then 15 DA8,000 DA until 31 December 2026, then 15,000 DA

Voice213 Pro 2Newvoice213-pro-212 DA until 31 December 2026, then 24 DA12,000 DA until 31 December 2026, then 24,000 DA
  • Characters are those of the text you send. Spaces, punctuation and diacritics count, and runs of spaces count once. Tone directions in parentheses don't count when they're at most 100 characters long, parentheses included; a longer one is billed like the rest of the text.
  • Every request is billed at least 100 characters. A 20-character greeting costs the same as a 100-character line. A text with nothing to speak, such as one made only of tone directions, is refused with 400 EMPTY_TEXT and costs nothing.
  • The cost is billable characters × price per million ÷ 1,000,000, rounded to four decimals, and is taken from your API credit only when the voice-over succeeds. Failed requests aren't charged.
  • Every voice-over response tells you the model, the characters billed (billableChars), what it cost (cost) and what's left (remainingCredit).
  • Everything else is free: Estimate Cost, List Models, List Voices, List Tones and Get Account.

Voice213 Lite 2 and Voice213 Pro 2 are priced 8,000 and 12,000 DA per million characters until 31 December 2026 (an introductory price), then 15,000 and 24,000 DA from 1 January 2027. The change happens on its own at midnight UTC, and GET /models lists it in priceChanges before it happens.

The 1,000 order confirmations are 1,000 requests of 150 characters each, above the 100-character minimum, so they cost the same as one request of 150,000 characters. To price your own text exactly, send it to Estimate Cost.

With Edahabia or CIB, by Visa or Mastercard (charged in US dollars at 250 DA per dollar), or by bank transfer. Online payments are added a few moments after they go through; transfers after review.

API credit never expires. When it can't cover a request, the request fails with 402 and the code INSUFFICIENT_CREDIT, whatever your plan. See Going to Production to stay ahead of it.

Limits

Every API key has the same limits, whatever your plan:

LimitEvery API key
Requests per minute600
Requests per day1,000
Requests at once20
Words per voice-over, tone directions included5,000
Requests per minute from one IP address600

  • Only successful voice-overs (POST /tts) count toward the per-minute and per-day limits. GET /me is checked against them but never counts, and the other free endpoints (/tts/estimate, /models, /tts/voices, /tts/tones) are neither checked nor counted.
  • The words-per-voice-over limit applies to both formats of POST /tts and to Estimate Cost, and counts every word, tone directions included.

See Rate Limits for how the limits behave. Need more? Contact us for higher limits or volume pricing.
