A tone direction tells the voice how to say the next part of your script. It's a short instruction in Arabic, in parentheses, placed before the words it applies to:

(نبرة تساؤل وتشويق، تثير فضول المستمع)
ملّيتو من الساعات اللي تتبدل بعد شهر؟

(نبرة واثقة وهادئة، تكشف عن الحل بثقة الخبير)
الساعة الكلاسيكية تاعنا مقاومة للماء وبسوار جلدي أصلي.

(نبرة عاجلة وحاسمة، تؤكد على أن العرض محدود ولن يدوم)
كومونديو دركا، العرض ما يدومش!

The voice performs each direction instead of reading it aloud, until the next one. Without any, it reads with its default delivery: warm, confident and persuasive, like a premium radio ad.

Tone directions are free: they aren't billed as characters when they're at most 100 characters long, parentheses included; a longer one is billed like the rest of the text.

Tone directions still count toward the 5,000-word limit of a request, and a text made only of tone directions has nothing to speak: it's refused with 400 EMPTY_TEXT.

Add them to your text

Get the list from GET /tts/tones and put the instruction strings into your text, each one just before the words it should color.

You're not limited to the list. Any short direction in parentheses that starts with نبرة works, such as (نبرة هادئة ودافئة), and it's free too, up to 100 characters.

Tips

  • One direction per section. A direction lasts until the next one, so you don't need one per sentence.
  • Keep them short. Three to eight words describe a tone better than a paragraph, and a direction over 100 characters is billed as text.
  • Change tone at the turning points of your ad: the hook, the reveal, the price, the call to action.
  • Listen and adjust. If a section sounds flat, try a stronger tone before it.
  • Keep spoken words out of parentheses. The voice treats anything in parentheses as a direction and never reads it aloud.
