This guide takes you from nothing to a published agent that answers on your website. You'll do most of it in the dashboard, and paste one line of code at the end. You can also build your own interface with the SDK instead.

You need a Voice213 account. Agents are on every plan: the Free agent plan includes one agent, free daily test calls, and a one-time welcome trial of 10 call minutes and 100 messages. See Plans & Limits.

1. Create the agent

1

Open the Agent workspace

In the dashboard, open Agents and choose Create new agent.

2

Pick a starting point

Choose a template: Customer support, Order confirmation (cash on delivery), Sales, Appointment booking, Restaurant, Real estate, Receptionist, or Custom agent. Each template is a complete set of instructions that works as it is. You only fill in your details where it says [company name].

You can also describe your business in a sentence or two and let the writing assistant draft the instructions and greeting for you.

3

Choose its language and voice

Pick the one language the agent speaks, for example Algerian Darija, and one of 30 voices. You can change both later. See Languages & Dialects.

2. Teach it your business

Open Knowledge base and add what your customers ask about: your price list, delivery times and fees by wilaya, your return policy, product sheets. You can upload PDF, Word and Excel files or photos, add a web page, or type notes and questions with their answers.

The agent answers from this and nothing else. If something isn't there, it says so and offers to have your team follow up. It never makes up a price. See Knowledge Base.

3. Try it

  • Test call: talk to the agent from your browser. It uses your plan's free daily test minutes first.
  • Test chat: type to it the way a WhatsApp customer would. Test chats are free.
  • Automated tests: a simulated customer talks to your agent, and a reviewer checks the conversation against your criteria. See Testing.

Adjust the instructions until the agent behaves the way you want, then test again.

4. Publish

On Publish, switch the agent live. An agent needs instructions before it can go live. You then get:

  • a public page, https://voice213.com/agent/<public-id>, to share anywhere: your bio link, an ad, a QR code;
  • a public id, for example k3x9m2p7q4wz, that the widget and the SDK use.

Under Allowed websites, add the address of your site, for example https://myshop.dz. Only those sites can then start calls to your agent, and so spend your minutes.

5. Put it on your website

Paste this before </body> on your site (Shopify, WooCommerce, YouCan and WordPress all accept it):

<script src="https://voice213.com/widget/agent.js" data-agent="k3x9m2p7q4wz" async></script>

A Talk to us button appears in the corner of your page. It opens a panel where visitors press Start call to talk to your agent.

Or build your own interface with the SDK

npm install @voice213/agent-client
import { AgentCall } from "@voice213/agent-client";

const call = new AgentCall({ agentId: "k3x9m2p7q4wz" });
call.on("message", ({ role, text }) => console.log(`${role}: ${text}`));

// The microphone can only open from a click
document.querySelector("#talk").addEventListener("click", () => call.start());
document.querySelector("#hang-up").addEventListener("click", () => call.end());

See the Web SDK.

6. Get your conversations

Every call and WhatsApp chat appears in Conversations with its transcript, a summary, the customer's sentiment and the outcome (resolved, lead, follow-up…). To receive them on your own server, add a webhook under Webhooks:

import { constructWebhookEvent } from "@voice213/agent-client/server";

export async function POST(request) {
  const event = await constructWebhookEvent(await request.text(), request.headers.get("x-voice213-signature"), process.env.VOICE213_WEBHOOK_SECRET);
  if (event.event === "conversation.ended" && event.data.outcome === "lead") await notifySales(event.data);
  return new Response(null, { status: 204 });
}

See Webhooks.
